El Hanne'eman. Our God is Faithful.

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations
Deuteronomy 7:9

For those of you who don't know, I have a few autoimmune disorders that require some particular medicines for my current treatment plan. James and I have worked hard to determine the best way to take a year's worth of my medication with us for our year in Scotland. We find out that the only way to get my medicine into the UK is to carry it all on with me onto the airplane. James researches and orders a fancy medical cooler for all of my Enbrel injections (which must stay cold at all times or the medicine dies). We plan very carefully how we will travel with everything into the UK. After countless hours of planning and praying for God's hand over our travel with the medicine, we are ready to go.

Around nine o'clock the night before we are scheduled to get on our plane to fly to Germany, we hit quite a snag with our medication plan.  While reading airport regulations for the countries in which we would be traveling before arriving in the UK, I discover that Germany will not allow me to take a year's worth of medication into their country. No exceptions. Houston, we have a problem. What now?

It's three in the morning in Germany so there isn't much we can do. We set an alarm to wake us up in four hours (about two in the morning our time) so that we can ask for advice from the people in Germany. We wake up at two and start phoning the Munich airport to see if they will make an exception for me. After about an hour of trying to break through the language barrier, we get our answer. "No. Because it's the law. No exceptions." Well, now is probably a good time to call the London airport to see if I am even allowed to bring it into the UK. Back to the calling card. Our phone calls will not go through. We get busy signals and re-routed calls. We can't speak to anyone. We have hit a wall.

So we pray. There was nothing else we could do. It was completely out of our hands, and the Lord made it clear that we were not in control. We pray for the Lord's provision. He has had his hand over it all, and we know that he has gone before us and will never fail us.

We try calling London again, and we get through. We go round and round in circles trying to talk with someone who knows the specifics of the laws. Finally, we speak with a man who quotes a regulation that will allow me to take in my medication. All I will need to do is reference the regulation number to the airport security and customs. Praise the Lord! Next, James calls a guy who works for Mustang who lives outside of London (who we have never met) to ask if he would meet us at the airport, pick up my medication, and store it for us in his fridge until we can come back to London. Out of the kindness of his heart, he says yes. He has no idea how much he helped us. Thank you.

We travel to London, go through security and customs, hand of my medicine, miss our connection flight, get new plane tickets, and fly to Munich. We make it through our whole vacation with the medicine a need for a few weeks and the rest is in London. The Lord provided a way when we had nowhere to go. Our God is faithful.
