A Merry Christmas in Prague!

Dates of these events: December 24-25, 2012

We made it to Prague! Before visiting Prague, I had no idea what to expect. Everyone we had spoken with said that they absolutely love Prague. We were excited to find out what Prague had to offer!
Many of the streets were lit up with Christmas lights!
In Prague, the locals celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. Dad picked out a really neat traditional Czechoslovakian restaurant for our Christmas dinner (that was actually on the 24th.)
We were happy to finally find the hidden restaurant and eat some very interesting and tasty Czech dishes!
After dinner, we headed to Prague's Old Town Square where we stumbled upon trdelniks. The trdelnik is a sugar and cinnamon roasted pastry.
 The perfect Czech sweet treat
Excited to be the first one to try it
Delicious!
 Merry Christmas Eve!
Keeping up the matching Christmas pajamas tradition

After spending some time reflecting on the beauty of our Savior, we headed out into town for a Christmas breakfast.
Altering a little from our traditional cinnamon roll Christmas breakfast, we set out to enjoy some traditional Czech pastries.
These cherry strudel muffins were my favorite!

Julie found some sweet little animals at the petting zoo.

The Charles Bridge (Karluv Most) is a pedestrian bridge that connects the Old Town with the Lesser Town. The bridge is packed with tourists, musicians and painters.

Such a lovely view after we crossed the bridge and headed up to Prague Castle

Saint Vitus Cathedral (Chram Svateho Vita) is a beautiful Gothic church within the grounds of Prague Castle.

The stained glass was breathtaking.

This Christmas tree decorated with dried orange slices and cinnamon cookies smelled wonderful!

Our matching Prague hats kept us quite cozy!

Dad and I discovered Kozel, a dark, sweet Czech beer. It was so good that I may try to import him some for his birthday!
Christmas crepes!
On the way back to our flats after dinner, we passed through the Old Town Square to take in one last bit of all the Christmas splendor!
The Astronomical Clock in Old Town Prague is the oldest astronomical clock that is still working.

Merry Christmas from Prague!
