Scottish Castle Hopping

Date of this trip: December 29, 2012

We started the day with Slains Castle.

But first we had to get there. There is always so much mud!

Taking in the breezy sea view
When visiting Slains, make sure to climb the tower for an amazing view (of the ocean, of course)!
Then we headed to the Bullers of Buchan.
You may notice a trend.
We tend to take all of our visitors to some of the same Scottish spots.

If you come visit, we'll take you, too.
Then you'll understand why we always go to these places.

Beautiful!

We hopped back in the car to continue on our journey.

Julie's snack of choice.
These llamas were much cuter than goldfish.
THE best lemonade. If live in the UK and haven't tried this, get it the next time you go to the grocery store. You won't regret it, especially now that the weather is getting a tad bit warmer!
Dad and James' snack of choice: smoky bacon crisps (aka potato chips).
IRN BRU is the number one selling soft drink in the UK (even above Coke)! Although everyone gave it a chance, the drink tastes like bubble gum. It is, none-the-less, very interesting.
Next, we made a stop at Dean's Shortbread factory in Huntly.
Unfortunately, the factory was not producing shortbread over the holidays.
However, the shortbread is always delicious!
Do you prefer Dean's or Walkers shortbread?
Huntly Castle
Dunnottar Castle

Dunnottar Castle is always stunning no matter when you visit.
Dad and Julie's first pub experience in Scotland
The sunsets at Aberdeen beach can be spectacular!
An intense game of bananagrams to end a fabulous day
